This summer has been all about healthy side dishes and snacks, both sweet and savoury. We’ve been using the barbecue non stop, so I’ve had the pleasure of focusing on nice and refreshing foods to have on the side of grilled chicken, fish or vegetables.
This butter bean and chilli spread is a recent favourite of ours. It’s such a delicious add-on to grilled chicken for example or raw or cooked vegetables. I’m totally hooked on it.
Makes one bowl:
1 can butterbeans / 250 gr
1 tbsp tahini
2 tbsp olive oil
1/2 lemon juiced
0.5 dl water
1.5 tsp ground paprika
1.5 tsp ground cumin
1/3 tsp cinnamon
Chilli flakes (with care, but enough for a kick)
Dried garlic milled

This chocolate spread is so delicious, that I just can’t stop obsessing over it. It’s light, tasty and actually really good for you. And an added bonus is that it’s really easy and fast to make. No unusual ingredients required. You can put this together with basic household ingredients. I personally love to have this spread on some brown rice and quinoa cakes. Such a great snack. My kids love it too.

2 dl quick oats
1.5 dl pure water
6 medjool dates
1.5 tbsp raw cacao powder
